Is It Over Yet?
Short answer: No.
Long answer:
This is a very weird question to ask. "It" is very vague. It could be anything and everything. So, if I wanted to be cheeky, I could say that no, as long as there is "something", "it" is not over yet.
I think we spend too much of our energy waiting and hoping for things to be over. We keep focussing on the thought that things will pass and perhaps they do. After all, "this, too, shall pass" is a comforting mantra.
What we don't account for when we hope for things to pass is the possibility that by the time things have passed, new things have come along that also need to pass.
After Covid comes the rain and after the rain comes the flood and with the flood comes the waste and debris and by the time we have cleaned that up, we may very well have the next something on our hands.
Sure, not everything is always going to be catastrophic, some things will just be minor debris in the flood of our lives, but trash is trash.
There is no point in waiting for the trash to just float by.
If you want the trash gone, pick it up. Drag it out of the water. Do something about it.
f you don't want to go under, build a floating city, learn how to swim, become a merperson or beg the gods that be for a selkie skin.
You have to do something.
Because when it's over, something else comes.
So, perhaps, hoping for "no things" to happen and waiting for them to be over can be a temporary comfort, but it doesn't really help you deal with reality.
That is life. One thing after the other.
The sooner you stop waiting and start making, the better off you'll be.
