It's Going To Be...
...something.
Maybe it isn't going to be alright. Maybe it is.
Feel free to tell yourself whatever you need to hear at that moment. Maybe you just need a moment of soothing. Even if it isn't true. Even if things turn out differently. You're still allowed to believe that it will all be ok. For a few seconds or a few minutes. Hours or days. Whatever you need.
Don't let "realists" take this away from you. You'll wake up in your own time and you'll fight then.
"It will be alright" can be just the right amount of extra strength you need to meet tomorrow.
It's also ok to tell yourself that things are not going to be ok. Sometimes, soothing is lost on you. Instead, you need something to get angry about. Something to fight against. You're allowed to create your own dragon and then go and slay it (or make friends). You can summon your demons whenever you like. Perhaps, they will carry you over the threshold of inertia. Worth it, if you ask me.
You don't have to be an optimist all the time. You also don't have to be a pessimist. Truth is, optimists probably have a better time along the way even if they are wrong more often than pessimists. Choose your poison. I'd rather be wrong than unhappy. But maybe you need to be right.
After all this time, I am still looking for the right words to tell you "just do you". It sounds corny and even though we nod right along to it, we often don't know what that means. You'll learn. In time.
Whether you're totally in tune with yourself or still on the road, it doesn't matter. You still get to want what you want. And you still get to tell yourself the story that works best for you.
Breathe in, hold it for a moment. Then say it:
It's going to be fucked up.
It's going to be alright.
It's going to be sucky.
It's going to be good.
It's going to be weird.
It's going to be awesome.
It's going to be ok.
It's going to be a mess.
It's going to be broken.
It's going to be whole.
It's going to be.
Something.
